2022 World Population Day, Barr Ukandu Queries FG Over poor Planning

A political analyst and politician in Abia state, Barrister Suleman Ukandu says Nigeria is running a country where many people who are not contributing anything, rather than crime are coming in through the states closer to the borders.
Ukandu who stated this with our correspondent as Nigeria joins the globe to make 2022 world population day, said Nigeria has many people without proper profiling.
World Population Day is an annual event, observed on July 11 every year, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues.
The event was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989. It was inspired by the public interest in Five Billion Day on July 11, 1987, the approximate date on which the world’s population reached five billion people.
World Population Day aims to increase people’s awareness on various population issues such as the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights.
2022 World Population day has the theme  “focusing towards a resilient future of all 8 billion people and harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all”.
 
However, Ukandu wondered how Nigeria can account for over two hundred million people without their records. According to him, Nigeria has not utilized it’s population with the challenges facing the country, to ascertain the exact number of the population to enable it manage and develop her rural economy.
 
He also pointed out that, for Nigeria to utilize her population well, it must involve propensity to save and consider education and human endow capacity.
Suleman Ukandu therefore advised Nigeria to develop the youth through education, to enhance the economic standard, industrialization to produce goods and minimize dormant population, control insecurity, develop an involving economy to take care of per capital income and tendency to invest.
