2027: Abia Will Deliver Tinubu, APC to Sweep All Positions Orji Uzor Kalu

The Senator representing Abia North in the National Assembly, Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed confidence that Abia State will deliver victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, including the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Kalu made the declaration on Friday at his country home, Camp Neya in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, during an enlarged meeting of APC members drawn from the state’s 307 wards. The gathering had about 5,893 party members in attendance.

According to the senator, the purpose of the meeting was to reinforce unity within the party and assure members that the APC in Abia State remains united.

He said that actions taken during the party congresses by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, were done with his full agreement.

He reassured party members that there is no division within the party in the state, noting that the Deputy Speaker remains part of the Reality Organisation political structure.

Kalu further assured members that the APC would win all elective positions in the state in 2027, including the presidency, governorship, Senate, and House of Representatives seats. He warned party members against any form of sabotage that could weaken the party’s chances at the polls

He said his commitment to President Tinubu is to ensure that the APC emerges victorious in Abia, noting that the Federal Government has invested significant resources in the state.

The senator also called on the Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, to openly acknowledge the contributions of the President to the development of the state, stressing that Abians must decide their political future without external influence.

Kalu stated that reconciliation within the party in Abia has been concluded and advised those uncomfortable with the arrangement to consider leaving the party. He urged members to remain steadfast while assuring them that future elections would be free and fair.

Commenting on the current economic situation, the senator attributed global economic difficulties to international tensions, particularly conflicts involving the United States, Israel and Iran, but expressed optimism that conditions would improve.

He also reiterated his support for the establishment of state police, noting that the idea dates back to his tenure as governor of Abia State.

According to him, the National Assembly would put safeguards in place to prevent governors from abusing state police structures.

Kalu added that the Senate would continue to support policies that would strengthen governance and development, noting that the Federal Government is reimbursing states for funds spent on federal roads and that Abia children have benefited from free education initiatives.
