Participants at SME Operators Training Charged to Develop knowledge of Business Management

A three day entrepreneurial training program for SME Operators in Ibeku Umuahia sponsored by the speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji in partnership with the Ministry of SME and New businesses Development has ended with a charge on the SME operators to put into practice the knowledge gained during the training.
The training ran from Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th February 2022 at Umuahia North local government area headquarters. The participants were also charged to develop their mindset as a way to grow the knowledge of their business management.
Speaking while addressing the participants, Abia State commissioner ministry of SME and New businesses Development, Lady  Adaku Uwaoma Oseiza , represented by the permanent secretary, Mr Agomoh Nkwachukwu commended the effort of the state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu in making entrepreneurship his  top priority, adding that he is subsidizing the amount for SME Operators in the state.
The commissioner advised the SME operators to take advantage of the training to improve their wealth. 
Lady  Oseiza also thanked the speaker Abia house of assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji for sponsoring  the training .
According to her, the training  will enable them qualify for any intervention  from the Ministry and also strengthen their businesses to an enviable height.
A resource person from Small, medium enterprises development agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN, Prince Amaechi explained the differences between plans, desire and mission, adding that planing in business involve asking questions which provide answers, leads into research and documentation.

According to Amaechi, planning helps one to achieve a goal and give a direction on what to achieve, stressing that planning requires financial discipline, as well say no to other less issues.
He identified the advantage of good business plan as making money, retaining money through saving and multiplying money.
Amaechi noted that business plan is the first step when about to start a business, helps to bring your main ideas into focus, helps you to identify if there is bad market for your product and helps to determine the completions.
Amaechi revealed that relationship and emotions are key in managing people. Therefore, Amaechi encouraged entrepreneurs to have a good relationship with their business partners.
In his closing remarks , the State assistant manager  SMEDAN, Umuahia, Mr Emelogu Iheanyi noted that this training has been on-going in the State and stressed the need for the trainees to take the program seriously  as there will be award of certificates only to those that attended the training  at the ministry of SME and New businesses Office at Investment house opposite state Secretariat Umuahia.
Participants at the training were taken on business plan, selling and marketing techniques, accessing funds for small, medium enterprise and new business development, book keeping, business registration, identifying business opportunities among others.
