Onyeikedi Urges Ohuhu Youths to Support Leaders Committed to Development

A prominent businessman and Convener of the Ohuhu Funfair Carnival, Biko Jonathan Onyeikedi, has called on youths in the Ohuhu clan to support only political aspirants who are committed to their welfare and long-term development ahead of the coming elections in Abia State.

Speaking during a consultative meeting with community stakeholders, Onyeikedi urged the younger generation to look beyond temporary political benefits and focus on leaders with clear plans for youth empowerment and socio-economic growth.

According to him, the future of Ohuhu depends largely on the quality of leaders elected into office, stressing that the youths must demand practical policies that prioritize education, employment opportunities, and improved welfare.

He noted that young people should no longer be treated as mere tools during election campaigns but as major stakeholders in the development of the clan.

“The future of Ohuhu depends on the quality of leadership we endorse today,” Onyeikedi said. “Our youths must support leaders who place their education, employment, and welfare at the center of governance.”

The Kolinks Integrated Resource Nigeria Limited Director also assured residents and members of the Ohuhu community at home and abroad that preparations were underway for a bigger and more colourful edition of the Ohuhu Funfair Carnival.

Onyeikedi, who has sustained the carnival for 13 consecutive years, described the event as a symbol of peace, unity, and cultural celebration for the Ohuhu people and Abia State at large.

He disclosed that the 14th edition of the carnival would feature rich cultural displays, entertainment, and activities designed to attract tourists and provide memorable experiences for participants.

According to him, the carnival has remained a unifying platform that promotes the identity and heritage of the Ohuhu people while bringing joy to families across the state.
