Hon.Ifeanyi Kingsley Ekwuribe, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Abia State House of Assembly representing Umuahia South State Constituency, has called on residents to remain vigilant as the election season approaches, urging them not to be swayed by politicians who only engage with the electorate during campaigns.
In a message addressed to the people of the constituency, Ekwuribe cautioned against what he described as the recurring pattern of empty promises, temporary gifts, and campaign rhetoric that fail to translate into meaningful development after elections.
According to him, Umuahia South deserves leaders who are accessible before, during, and after elections, and who are genuinely committed to improving the welfare of the people through quality representation, transparency, and sustainable development.
The PDP flagbearer said his aspiration is driven by the belief that leadership is a responsibility rather than an avenue for personal enrichment. He pledged to serve with integrity, remain attentive to the needs of constituents, and work towards attracting developmental projects, creating opportunities for youths and women, improving education, supporting farmers and traders, and ensuring the constituency has a strong voice in the Abia State House of Assembly.
Ekwuribe described the forthcoming election as a defining moment for the future of Umuahia South, urging voters to reject what he termed politics of deception and instead embrace leadership founded on sincerity, accountability, and selfless service.
Reaffirming his campaign vision, he said the movement is anchored on the principle of “For Us, By Us,” which he described as a people-driven commitment to leadership that listens, serves, and delivers tangible results.
Drawing inspiration from Isaiah 60:22, Ekwuribe expressed confidence that the right time for positive transformation had come, stating that his team remains steadfast in faith and committed to building a prosperous Umuahia South where every voice counts and every community thrives.
He concluded by calling on residents to support his candidacy, assuring them that together they can move Umuahia South forward and achieve lasting progress for future generations.
The message ended with his campaign slogans: “I Win, We Win! I Rise, We Rise! For Us, By Us!”
The statement was issued by the Media Unit of Hon. Ifeanyi Kingsley Ekwuribe.
