The Member representing Isuikwuato/ Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman of the House Committee on Infectious Diseases, Chief Amobi Ogah, has celebrated his two-year stewardship with a constituency briefing and a large-scale empowerment programme, widely regarded as one of the most far-reaching community-focused interventions in the area in recent times.
Held at Onuaku Primary School Field, Uturu, the event drew federal lawmakers, government officials, party leaders and hundreds of constituents who witnessed the distribution of economic support items targeted at boosting livelihoods and enhancing social welfare.
Governor Alex Otti, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, applauded Ogah for a “people-centred and impactful representation,” noting that the lawmaker’s efforts align with the state government’s focus on economic growth and human capital development. He commended Ogah for demonstrating leadership built on service and urged him to sustain the pace.
Other dignitaries, including representatives of the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Mr Abubakar Kabir represented by Mark Essiet, the Member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, and the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Otti, also extolled Ogah’s strides in youth empowerment, job creation, skills development and community projects.
They noted that Ogah’s gesture has earned him opportunity to represent his people more and asked God to bless him more.

Speaking at the event, Ogah said the empowerment programme implemented under the UgoAbia Grassroots Movement Initiative was designed to promote economic independence and expressed gratitude for the support from constituents and the Alex Otti-led administration.
He reiterated his belief that public office is a privilege that must be exercised with accountability and commitment to the collective good, urging Nigerians to shun vote-buying and back leaders who prioritise transparency.
Sharing reflections on his journey from humble beginnings in Uturu, Ogah said his personal experiences shaped his desire to serve and uplift others, adding that his focus has remained on improving infrastructure, enhancing security and expanding opportunity.
He highlighted completed and ongoing projects, including the Operation Crush security initiative, which he said has helped restore peace in previously troubled areas.
Addressing beneficiaries, Ogah advised them to put the empowerment items to good use, stressing that the intervention was structured and not political patronage, with monitoring committees established to ensure accountability.
He frowned at the attitudes of those who sold the items given to them in 2024.
“Some of them sold the items below what I bought them, this is not good because I want people to grow from somewhere and not to suffer much”
Speakers acknowledged Ogah’s legislative input, describing him as active in lawmaking, oversight and representation, with several bills and motions to his name and renewed leadership in the House Committee on Infectious Diseases.

Beneficiaries praised Ogah’s leadership as “purposeful, responsive and compassionate,” expressing appreciation for his continued commitment to community development.
Items distributed during the programme included cars, motorcycles, tricycles, deep freezers, sewing machines, grinding machines and other livelihood support equipment, as constituents expressed support for Ogah and called for the continuation of community-based developmental initiatives.
Earlier in his homily the Methodist Bishop of Isuikwuato Diocese,Rt. Rev.Dr O.C. Chiemeka, commended Rt Hon Amobi Ogah for empowering his constituents, while urging the recipients to judiciously utilize the items as well as continue to support Hon. Ogah.
” If one can take care of what belongs to another person, tomorrow the person will receive his own.
” What you are getting today is a trial ,if you use it well, tomorrow God will give you more.
” This is a sign of God’s love for you and I thank Rt Hon Amobi Ogah for empowering his constituents and having empowered others,God will continue to empower Ogah” he said
