Anniversary: Eze Osquared Organizes Free Medical Outreach, Presents Awards to Deserving Persons.

More than two hundred and fifty indigens of Afarata Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State have benefited from the free medical outreach courtesy of Eze Felix Osquared Onwukwe, Ata 11 of Afarata Ibeku.

The free medical outreach which was held at All Saints Methodist Church Nigeria, Ebenezer Circuit Head Quarters Mbom-Afarata saw the health personnel perform fasting blood sugar test, high blood pressure on the beneficiaries. They also administered free drugs to them.

Speaking with National Watch, the Ata of Afarata Ibeku, His Royal Majesty, Eze Felix Osquared Onwukwe said the free medical outreach was part of the activities to mark his two years on the throne.

Eze Onwukwe added that he deemed it necessary to give back to his community because many rural dwellers cannot afford their medical bills. He stressed that many people value food more than their health. The royal father said they gave the beneficiaries BP, diabetes, cough syrup, pains and other drugs.

Eze Onwukwe however thanked one of his subjects who resides in the United States, Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi for supporting this year’s medical outreach and anniversary of his coronation with one million naira, cartons of malt and water. He disclosed that Apostle Ibeagbazi built and equipped an event centre with digital library department which he donated to the community.

The traditional ruler used the opportunity to call on Abia State government to assist them with roads, renovation of their schools, emphasizing the existing school is being used without toilet.

According to him, Abia State government is trying on roads but called for more to help farmers transport their farm produce.

He pointed out that the health centre in their community is highly under funded and appealed to Abia state government to assist them restore it, including their electricity and provision of water, as well as provision of security vehicle.

Also speaking, the traditional prime minister of Afarata Ibeku, Chief Barrister Ugochukwu Roland Ndubuka, (Ugodiohanma 1 of Afarata Ibeku) said the traditional ruler is marking his 2nd anniversary with thanksgiving held on Sunday and one year memorial service of his late mother, late Mrs Margaret Onwukwe.

He said the event which climaxed the anniversary started with the free medical outreach, while one of the Eze’s sister and Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi among others were bestowed with Chieftaincy titles to encourage their good works for the community.

The Chairman of Modaly event centre, ChiefJumah Chibuike Ibeagbazi from Ndagbo Mbom Afarata Ibeku commended Eze Felix Onwunkwe for his determination to develop their community. He identified that Eze Osquared as an excellent king, bearing in mind his desire to see his community experience develooment.

Jumah recalled the efforts Eze Osquared made when their community had no light for a long time which inspired him to invest in the community.

Jumah said the gesture of Eze Felix Osquared Onwukwe spurred him and his wife to build the event centre which has a digital library.

He disclosed that their goal is to make life different no matter how little, adding that the library has solar power for 24 hours of light, internet and other modern facilities including computers to reflect what is trending.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries of the free medical outreach including Mr Daniel Ahamedula from Umueziawu Afarata Ibeku and Mrs Ngozi Ndife commended Eze Osquaed for giving them more live through the free medical outreach.

They further expressed surprise when they heard the invitation, praying God to bless the benefactor and his family.

Those who received chieftaincy awards were Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi as Akuruo Ulo 1 of Afarata, Chief Mrs Peace Onuabuchi Anozie as Ugochinyeludiya 1 of Afarata, Chief Sir King Lucky Fred Nwoko as Osinanwata buru Eze 1 of Afarata among others.
