A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Mark Ugorji, has expressed gratitude to God for preserving his family as he marked his 25th wedding anniversary.
Hon. Ugorji stated this during a thanksgiving service held at Christ Embassy Church Headquarters, Bank Road, Umuahia, where he also appreciated the Zonal Pastor, South East Zone 1, Pastor Chika Alex, for his support and spiritual guidance over the years.

Speaking before the congregation, Hon. Ugorji praised his wife for standing by him through life’s challenges, describing her as a virtuous woman who has joined faith with him in prayers. He expressed joy that, despite several storms and domestic challenges encountered over the years, God granted him victory.
According to him, he has survived various domestic accidents and troubling experiences, stressing that God has always remained faithful. He noted that his wife played vital roles in his life and progress, contributing financially and otherwise to the stability and growth of the family.
“We have held our hands together to walk on the waters of life, weathered the storms of life, levitated the high heights of life, withstood the beastly elements of this life. We have lived 25 victorious life together as husband and wife.
These 25 years produced four excellent spirited children. Today, we are proud parents. God has not finished with us. Many incredible testimonies abound.
We have come to celebrate and thank our God, the Lord Jesus Christ who reconciled us to God and made us who were nobodies to become the people of God, and the Holy Spirit who executes the will, purpose and agenda of God in us.
We couldn’t have heard rightly of God without certain men who have dedicated their time and life to sit at the feet of Jesus Christ to learn and transfer to us the nuggets for living. Therefore, our thanks and appreciation goes to our Big Daddy Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Dsc. Dsc. DD, who has mentored, nurtured and baked us to become lively stones”.
Also speaking, Mrs. Odinma Mark Ugorji thanked God for keeping their family through thick and thin. She recalled that their marriage was joined on December 31, 2000, adding that Pastor Chika Alex has remained a constant support to their family.
She testified that God has beautified their lives, stating that her husband has remained loving and faithful to his words. She added that they pray together and always ask God for intervention whenever challenges arise.
“I sincerely lack words to express how grateful and thankful I am to the love of my life… THE SWEET HOLY SPIRIT… whose I am and whom | serve with my life for His guidance, His unconditional love and His wisdom by which IJ navigate through all the lives challenges and whatever comes my way.
Truly, our God has been faithful, He honoured me with a God fearing sweet partner as a husband and friend, so audacious, visionary, resilient, courageous, patient, kind hearted, very supportive, a disciplinarian per excellence, a good father to our kids and an extraordinary giver and a lover of God and humanity. Through these 25 years with him, I have come to understand him more than our early years; and each passing day is sweeter than when we first began. We share memories filled with LAUGHTER, JOY, PEACE, HOPE and LOVE. My husband is such a ‘rare personality’ that so many people find it difficult to understand him, some see him as uncompromising, others see him as a non-conformist, but the gospel truth is that, | have come to understand him as a man with a ‘Heart of Gold’. He can empty his bank account just to save a soul even if that soul have previously offended him. I see in him the simple practicability of Christian life.

He literarily thought me how to place less premium on things that does not really matter (transient things) and be more focused on things that endures (things from above). Our relationship is such that we made up our minds long ago not to ‘replace a smile with a frown’ no matter the situation. And to the glory of God, He has remained faithful to His WORD in our lives.
This faithful God has been the anchor of my household especially by blessing us with wonderful children. Most times, I am almost moved to tears on the ‘SPECIE’ of Children that the good Lord blessed us with. I can make bold to say that we are blessed with four excellent, obedient, caring and loving children who always make us proud both in their character, love for God, as well as in their academics.

In his remarks, Pastor Chika Alex assured the family and congregation that God is deeply involved in the journey of His children and that He is not done with them yet. He reminded Christians that Jesus Christ came in human form for the glory and redemption of humanity.
Speaking on the topic, “Christ in You, the Hope of All Universe,” Pastor Alex urged believers to pursue God above material possessions, noting that while people may use money, houses, and cars, they should not allow such things to control them. He emphasized the need for believers to internalize the Word of God, stressing that Christ can only dwell in those who make themselves available to Him.
Drawing references from Jeremiah 13:14, Luke 1:31, Genesis, and Hebrews chapter 4, the cleric explained the divine nature and mission of Jesus Christ, stating that the DNA of Jesus is God and that He was born so humanity may have life abundantly.
Pastor Alex prayed for the congregation to prosper in 2026, declaring that negative policies would be paralyzed, while children of God would enjoy favor and abundant grace. He encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope, urging them to remain steadfast in faith and obedience to God’s commandments.
At the reception ground Obuohia Okwu Olokoro, the chairman of the occasion, High Chief Engineer Okwudiri Ibelegbu congratulated the couple and prayed for continued peaceful marriage.

The thanksgiving service featured special prayers, worship songs, and thanksgiving presentations by the family of Hon. Mark Ugorji, as well as cutting of cake.
