The member representing Aba south Constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Obinna Ichita says Abians have developed more interest in election participation and cannot allow looters to occupy the seat of government again.
Hon Ichita stated this Thursday June 16th, 2022 while addressing ward and local government executives of APGA who came to pass vote of confidence on the leadership of Reverend Ehimere led state executive at the party secretariat in Umuahia.
He thanked the party loyaltists for their civility and composure throughout the primaries, encouraging them to sustain the high level of support and diligent for the sate executive and their governorship candidate, Professor Greg Ibe. Ichita opined that the track record of Professor Ibe and innovationa introduced by APGA across the country posed high degree of intimidations to the ruling party in the state, who would be defeated in 2023 general elections.
The sate chairman of APGA , Reverend Augustine Ehimere urged party members not to be distracted by the pressure designed by some members who are benefiting from party internal squabbles.
Reverend Ehimere said APGA is on a divine mission to fulfill a divine mandate, hence, they are joining other progressive Abians to elect leaders that will pay salaries, pensions and gratuities.
He advised party members to maintain maturity to enable them defeat those who were paid to scuttle the progress of the party.
According to him, the party is aware of the plot by political jobbers to distract APGA from winning elections come 2023, adding that APGA stands for accountability and transparency.
His words, “We are happy with Greg Ibe and he is not looking for anything but he is giving out. APGA is on a mission to build, recover and reconstruct Abia and those in court should come back and join the party to deliver”.
Earlier in a communique, Nduka Izuchukwu on behalf of Abia LGA secretaries, Ukpai Agwu from Aba South, lady Ugochi Anyaele from Igbere ward A, Ezinne Juliet Okonkwo from Aba South among others affirmed that APGA primaries from the presidential down to state house of assembly were free and fair. While pledging their support for professor Greg Ibe as their governorship candidate, they urged those who could not make it during the primaries to withdraw their court cases and join hands with the party to ensure victory.
Some of the supporters were seen with placards with inscriptiona: “Isialangwa south Greg na yo we now, our choice remains with Professor Greg Ibe, Bende supports Professor Greg Ibe”.
