Ace Commendian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth has endorsed the governorship ambition of the Labour Party governorship candidate in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR.
The multiple award-winning Commedian who had communicated his position to Dr. Otti directly and to his numerous supporters, also spoke to the press where he gave reasons for supporting the ex bank Chief.
According to Basketmouth, his support for Dr. Otti was hinged on his capacity and vision for the state, insisting that he had seen and read a lot about the LP candidate to convince him that he is the best man for the job.
The Isuikwuato-born legendary Commedian regretted the absence of good leadership in Abia which has led to collapse in basic infrastructure needed to make life liveable for Abians, and therefore enjoined Abians to unite behind Dr. Otti so as to get Abia out of the doldrums of poor leadership.
Otti, a trained First Class Economist and former bank CEO, who voluntarily retired in 2014 leaving behind over six years tenure before joining politics, was recently projected to win the 2023 Abia governorship election by the highly reputed ANAP Foundation in conjunction with the NOI-Polls, a verdict which many analysts described as apt and in tandem with realities on ground.
Mny commentators are of the opinion that Alex Otti is the candidate with consistent commitment and tested skills, and whose programs and plans for the state are easily comprehensible, hence their massive support for him.
Just recently, many respected individuals and groups which included Association of Professors, Abia People Living With Disabilities, Pensioners, Different Religious Groups, Abia Liberation Movement, Different Peter Obi Supporr Groups, Founder of Western Union Money Transfer in Africa, the Aba Film Project etc have all declared support for the governorship ambition of Dr. Alex Otti.
With the latest endorsement from one of Abia’s biggest exports to th world, Basketmouth, the coast appears clear for other entertainers and celebrities who are yet to take a stand to do so, as a way of playing their role towards liberating the state which has become an object of mockery in the comity of states.
