The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese, Right Reverend Geoffrey Ibeabuchi has enjoined fathers to be spiritually alert as it takes spiritual sensitivity to meet up with the challenges of the time.

In his message at All Saints’ Church, World Bank Housing Estate, Umuahia, Abia State, which centered on the theme of the year 2021 father’s day and thanksgiving service of Anglican communion Christian Mens’ Fellowship, CMF tagged “The Spiritually Sensitive Father, drawn from the Bible book of Matthew chapter 2 verse 13 – 15 – 19 to end, Bishop Ibeabuchi called on fathers as the Chief Security Officers of their families to wake up and listen to Gods voice.

According to him, the baby Jesus and his mother Mary were saved from the sword of Herod because of Josephs spiritual sensitivity and prompt action(s), adding that today, a lot of voices are speaking including voice of hatred, killings and bloodshed, oppressions, suppressions, corruption, accusations, divisions, intimidations, harassments, to mention but a few.

On the theme of the celebration “The Spiritually Sensitive Father”, Bishop Ibeabuchi said the theme became necessary following the high level of insensitivity among the fathers in the society especially with regards to spiritual matters.

The Anglican Bishop called on the church, mothers and children to devote time in praying for the Christian men/fathers especially those in positions of authorities in the society, to be worthy ambassadors of Christ.
