Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bende South State Constituency, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, have restated their commitment to unity and party cohesion, describing it as the bedrock of the party’s sustained electoral success in the area since 1999.
The position was made known during a well-attended stakeholders’ meeting held in Umuahia, convened at the instance of party leader, Hon. Chidi Mezieobi Ezeogu, popularly known as Indo.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Mezieobi stressed the need to preserve the long-standing unity within the PDP in Bende South, noting that the harmony among party leaders and members has consistently translated into electoral victories over the years.
According to him, the strength of the PDP in the constituency lies in its togetherness, which has kept the party dominant since the return of democratic governance in 1999.
Also speaking, Chief Nduaka Nworisara commended the initiative behind the meeting and lauded the collective determination of party leaders to deepen internal cohesion. He described the coming together of stakeholders as a core PDP tradition that has continued to guarantee success at the polls.
Several leaders at the meeting equally applauded Hon. Mezieobi for his sustained efforts at promoting peace and unity within the party. They urged him to build on the momentum by taking a decisive political step to contest and represent Bende South at the Abia State House of Assembly.
The stakeholders, speaking in one voice, encouraged him to heed the call, citing his leadership qualities and ability to mobilize and unite party members.
The meeting ended on a note of renewed solidarity, with participants pledging to work collectively to sustain the PDP’s dominance in Bende South and across Abia State.
Prominent PDP leaders and stakeholders present at the meeting included Chief Nduaka Nworisara, Chief Godwin Obulandeife, Chief Ihiechi Philips, Chief Dr. Ndu Ukagha, Hon. Nkem Okoro, Comrade Jasper Anyalewechi, among others.
