Breaking, I will hold you responsible for any lapses, Gov Ikpeazu to Chairmen.

Abia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu is charging local government chairmen in the17 LGAs of Abia state to take practical responsibility in ensuring the protection of lives and properties in their area.
The governor who stated this is in umuahia in a meeting with local government chairmen and ward councilors, explained that there should be proper flow of information in an orderly manner and also demanded weekly and monthly security updates from the chairmen and inform his decision in event of any circumstance. The governor states that the security meeting should involve traditional rulers, police, SSS, civil defense and other critical stakeholders.
According to him, regular security council meetings at the local government level will help ascertain when there are security bridges.
He added that “Nigeria today is challenged on all sides and Abia is a sub national entity in Nigeria therefore we cannot deny that we have our own fair share of the security challenges and security issues emanate from local government which is in a state.” 
Governor Ikpeazu charged them to maintain socio political stability at the grassroot as this will create good atmosphere in 2023 election, while urging the chairmen to carry their councilors along and demanded deputy chairmen and the councilors to be give support to their chairmen.
He used the forum to appealed to the political leaders to ensure their people participate in the on going INEC registration and enjoined on every leader at the local government to work in synergy with their members to ensure that dividends of democracy is given to the people and that each ward should embarking on a project. 
To this end, the councilors should submit a project to their leaders who will forward them to their chairmen, from there, to governors chief of staff.
