Former Chief of Staff to Abia state Governor, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu on Friday called for more unity and peace in All Progressive Congress APC in the state.
Chief Mascot made the call when he visited the party leaders and party faithful at APC secretariat Umuahia. He said that he visited the party to preach peace, unity and for them to harmonize themselves as to the fight that is up front is a tough one.
According to him, the party can only achieve success if they are together and united, which identified as the main purpose of his visit to the state party.
He added that there is no party that will compete with APC in Abia state when they are together and promised that the party would benefit more if they align with the centre.
Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu said that he is available to work for the party and thanked the party leaders for giving him attention.
Receiving Chief Mascot and his entourage, the state chairman of APC, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu said that APC the capacity to do better in Abia and encouraged party members to be intentional.
Dr Ononogbu flanked by the party state secretary, Chief Chidi Avuaja urged APC members to be more commited and commended President Bola Tinubu for his reforms, demostration of capacity and taken hard decisions which led to the removal of feul subsidy.
He disclosed that the subsidy had made Governors to pay promptly without borrowing again, adding that Abia State Governor should be judged by the amount of money he is receiving.
Ononogbu further charged the party members to preach the party’s achievements at the grassroots, sell the party and gain more genuine supporters for greater success at the appropriate time.
Also speaking, the acting publicity secretary, Barrister Ifeanyi Igwe described the visit of Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu as a realignment of a great titan, a strong pillar of the party.
He stated that the mission to take over the state has started, saying that the APC is a party to beat.
Igwe said that they are happy to welcome one of them, a bulldozer of the party and urged others who have interest to return to APC and fresh members to join their moving train.
“Well, between now and before the end of this year, we are going to see more and more realignment, more and more welcoming of our members who have left. You know, the party is like a church, free to come in and free to go out. So the APC is coming together to be united.
APC Abia State is becoming stronger and is becoming a party to beat in the state. Our target is to take over the realms of affairs of this state in 2027. We are working very hard for that.
What happened to us in the last election will not happen again. We are more united, we are more determined, we are more intentional. You know, so that is the message of today.
