In a significant development for local governance in Abia State, the Deputy Mayors have come together to elect their leadership team. At a meeting held today 21st July 2025 in Umuahia, the Deputy Mayors’ Forum elected its executive members, marking a new chapter in collaborative governance.
The newly elected leaders are:
- Chairman – Hon. Destiny Chikwurah Isiguzo, Ph.D (Obingwa LGA)
- Deputy Chairman – Hon. Mrs Ngozi Anya (Bende LGA)
- Secretary – Hon. Barrister Enyinnaya Nwosu (Umuahia South)
- Public Relations Officer – Hon. Lucky Awuwa (Ikwuano LGA)
- Financial Secretary – Hon. Ifeanyi Njoko (Isiukwuato LGA)
- Treasurer – Hon. Vivian Obilor (Isiala Ngwa South LGA)
According to them, this leadership team is poised to harness the collective expertise and experience of deputy mayors across Abia State, driving initiatives that enhance citizen welfare and promote local development.
