Ehiemere commiserates with families of Aba slain soldiers, advocates for State Police

The National Vice Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Rev, Augustine Ehiemere has expressed his heart-felt sympathy to the families of the soldiers killed in Aba recently.
In a statement he signed and made available to newsmen, Rev. Ehiemere commiserates with the families of the gallant soldiers who lost their lives at Obikabia junction on 30th May, 2024 and urges them to take heart.

He also thanked the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti for calming the tensed situation down and for responding rapidly to the tragedy.
However, he warned that leaders should be weary and cautious in their choice of words, as the led may misinterpret every statement from them.

According to Ehiemere “APGA is worried about the current wave of defection ravaging Abia Sttate. Definitely, which he attributed to the reshuffling of the bad eggs looking for where to take shelter while waiting for 2027.”

He maintained that the principal defectors in Abia state from the peoples democratic party, PDP are those who raped and milked Abia State dry. The APGA Vice Chairman South East alleged that they are out to truncate the current move to re-establish Abia State. In his words, “their primary motive is to come back in another form to hijack Abia State.” He called on all undefiled political parties to deny those scavengers ticket come 2027 as their aim is to defile them and possibly thwart the intentions of their new party, the all progressive congress, APC.

Ehiemere stated that while Governor Otti should be commended for his headway in tacking security challenges in Abia State, he should make real the much acclaimed State policing as it is bound to give the state an edge. He maintained that “Every community knows the bad ones and only the natives can give them a hot chase. State policing working in consonance with the Police Community Relations Committee will surely give the security apparatus of Abia State a great boost”.

In his words “Gov. Otti should make real his promise to the Ukwa people IEast and West) This is an area that has not benefitted anything from the government, right from the time of Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, through T.A.Orji to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, the area has suffered much neglect”, Ehiemere alleged.

He observed that what the previous administrations did for the area in 8 solid years was grab plots of land from Ukwa people with the promise to build abbatoir. He disclosed that the said abbatoire would have been a security threats to Ukwa people now, the same way Umunneochi people faced security challenges.

Ehiemere also expressed concern that the hen that lays the golden egg has always been forgotten in Abia State. He said, as the area that makes Abia State an oil producing state, government should provide them with infrastructure to ameliorate their sufferings, as previous administrations had totally forgoten the area.

“While we give Gov. Otti a pass mark in scheme of things, I urge all APGA party faithful in Abia State to remain strong and remember the journey of the Israelites where forty days turned into forty years. APGA as a movement remains conscious of its role as a redeemer and I call on those still sitting on the fence to join APGA now as it remains the only option for the emancipation of the South East”. Do not wait till 2027 as the rush may be much” he concluded.
