Former Deputy Governors Commend Tinubu on Economic Reforms, Urge National Unity

The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria has praised the Federal Government for adopting key economic resolutions it proposed to address the nation’s challenges.

The National Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Chris Akomas, made this known at the forum’s Secretariat in Abuja. He lauded President Bola Tinubu’s responsiveness to expert advice and his administration’s commitment to economic reforms.

Dr. Akomas, a former deputy governor of Abia State, explained that recommendations from the forum’s last national conference, which focused on Nigeria’s economic difficulties, are now being reflected in the government’s current policies.

Adding his voice, a former governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, emphasized the need for the political class to unite in the national interest to “build a Nigeria of our dream.”

He called for collaborative policy formation to tackle pressing issues, from insecurity and food insecurity to economic instability and governance deficits.

Senator Wamakko urged the former deputy governors to leverage their institutional memory to bridge the gap between state and federal policy-making. He stressed that leadership is a continuous responsibility that demands good governance and accountability.
