Goodshed Market Leaders deny Report of Fracas, pledges support to ABST

The leadership and traders at Good Shed Palm Oil Market Umuopara in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State have denied the reports being peddling by some people that there is crisis in the Market.

Speaking while conducting journalists round the market over the false information, some of the leaders and traders in the market including the Chairman, Mr Chimaroke Ukaegbu, the chairman patrons Pastor Johnbull Ogbonna and Chief Security Officer Mr Obinwanne Ogu described the information of violence in the market as false and the handwork of some traders who are sabotaging government efforts in the market.
They noted that the market is peaceful, as traders are conducting their businesses, without fear or discrimination, pointing out that those who are spreading the false information are those who do not want to follow due process of paying revenue due to government in the Oil market.

According to them, the five beaches in the Oil market are functioning well, with customers coming in to purchase Oil without molestation of any kind, assuring that the leadership of the market will continue to make peace priority in the market, for enhanced business activities.

The leadership and traders of the market commended the state governor, Dr Alex Otti and commissioner for Trade Commerce and industry, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu for their sterling leadership prowess that has affected the markets positively.

Also speaking, a stakeholder in the market Sir Obi Megwo disclosed that the market has been peaceful and cautioned some people in the market to support the state government efforts of repositioning the market by refraining from peddling romours to tanish the image of the market and its leadership.
