The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Abia State on Thursday February 23rd, 2023 commenced the distribution of sensitive materials to seventeen local government areas in Abia state ahead of Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly Election.
INEC Head of Department, voter education and publicity in Abia State, Mrs Rebecca Jim confirmed this to National Watch at CBN headquarters Umuahia.
The sensitive materials are Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS, Ballot Papers and Form EC8 .
According to Mrs Jim, all the sensitive materials were under tight security, adding that the commission is fully prepared for the election.
She further assured Abians that other security personnel were assigned at the local government areas to assist safeguard the sensitive materials.
Rebecca Jim further clarified that the BVAS cannot be manipulated and dispelled all doubts about the BVAS.
