Mothers Urged to Uphold Faith, Self-Care at Adventist Women’s Ministries Day in Umuahia

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Religious Matters, Apostle Kennedy Chukwumezie Wiper, has advised mothers to prioritise their faith in God, personal well-being and the overall welfare of their families as essential pillars for a stable society.

Apostle Wiper gave the advice during the quarterly celebration of the Adventist Women’s Ministries Day held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Unity Chapel, Government House, Umuahia. He encouraged mothers to believe in themselves, uphold self-worth and surround themselves with supportive and uplifting people, while wishing them a fulfilling celebration.

Also speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally Generated Revenue, Dr. Emmanuel Okpechi, who led a delegation from the United Kingdom on a courtesy visit to the wife of the Governor, described women as vanguards of good virtues. He stressed the importance of mothers modelling love, kindness, trust and other positive values for their children in order to build a better society.

Dr. Okpechi commended the visitors for their love and friendship towards the Governor’s wife and called on Abians to take their civic responsibilities seriously to enable Governor Alex Otti to effectively deliver on his mandate.

In a sermon titled “Who Is a Woman?” Lady Precious Uwaoma described a woman as a carrier of peace, Christ-like love, unity, faith and strength, among other virtues that positively impact families and society. She encouraged women not to relent in their efforts despite challenges.

A guest speaker, Mrs. Goodluck Anyatonwu, noted that the burdens borne by mothers are enormous, but assured that God, in His love and faithfulness, will help them overcome if they place their trust in Him.

Welcoming the delegation from the United Kingdom, the Pastor in charge of the Unity Chapel, Pastor Favour Obinna-Njoku, alongside the First Elder, Elder Orji Obinwa, thanked the friends of the Governor’s wife for attending the service. They encouraged prayers for the success of the present administration and offered prayers for the visitors’ safe return.

The programme also featured special prayer sessions for Governor Alex Otti, members of the State Executive Council, and for God’s intervention in global affairs.
