Mrs Ikpeazu Charges Ndi Ugoeze To End GBV in Their Communities

The Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has described prayer as an incentive that unlock the door and allow you to escape from tribulations and position you for God’s blessings.
The Governor’s wife stated this at the 2021 Ugwueze Summit and Women Prayer Session held on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th December 2021 at Michael Okpara Auditorium Umuahia.
According to her, ” having asked for God’s blessings and protection, one of the take away from this summit is for us to stand up against violence of all type meted out to women and children in the society.
The Governor’s wife also pleaded with Ndi Ugoeze who were present to work with stakeholders and other leaders in their communities to work hard to end gender base violence.
Chairman on the occasion, Professor Roseline Ndimele, said that the Wife of the Governor in her magnanimity love of God has gathered us here to prepare us for the yuletide.
As the theme of the summit suggests, we are in perilous time where everything is turning upside down.
‘I thank God for this exposure and I know that at the end we would have learnt useful things to help us reposition the society”.
In her remarks, the wife of Abia state chairman of Traditional Rulers, Ugoeze Cecilia Nwabekee, said that the Administration of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, has really tried in touching all areas of our lives in the areas of education, agriculture and empowerment.
Nwabekee also commend the Governor’s wife for going a long way to support her husbands administration through her Vicar Hope Foundation.
Also speaking, the chairman of the organising committee, Lady Vivian Ude Oko Chukwu, states that the gathering offers us opportunities to take stock and ask for God’s guidance.
However, the guest lecturer and the keynote speaker, Prof. Nnenna Mkpa, said that today our country and state are obviously bugged down with insecurity and degeneration of values.
She charged women to rise up to the challenge and lead the way to the restoration of human values.
She expressed that deliberate orientation should be made a regular inclusion in our school curriculum to catch our children young.
