Mrs Otti Empowers Women, PayS Medical Bills of Discharged Patients to Mark 2024 WORLD CHARITY DAY

Inline with World Charity Day held annually on September 5, some patients medical bills were paid by the wife of the Abia state Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti.

Speaking at the Federal Medical center, Umuahia, the Abia first lady, Mrs Otti said it is expedient to remember the indigent people in the society as part of activities marking the day. She promised to sustain the process, and also visited the women at Orieugba market where she empowered 50 traders to support their petty businesses.

Speaking earlier, the commissioner for poverty alleviation and vulnerable groups, Mrs Blessing Felix appreciated the wife of the Governor for coming to reach out to people who could not ordinarily come to her, assuring them that it is the beginning of better things.

Those who benefited the gesture at the Federal Medical center including Daberechi Ezeigbo, Mr Friday Egocha among others thanked the wife of the governor for her kind gesture and prayed for God’s continuous blessings.

The programme was organized by the office of the wife of the governor in collaboration with the ministry of poverty alleviation and social protection.

So far, a total number of six patients who have been discharged but had no money to clear their bills were grateful for the benevolence.
