NSCDC Commandant Urges Professionalism as 66 Officers Are Decorated in Abia

The State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi Ajose, has charged officers of the Corps to uphold professionalism, discipline and dedication in the discharge of their duties, stressing that promotion comes with greater responsibility, accountability and leadership.

Commandant Ajose gave the charge on Friday, 16 January 2026, during a decoration ceremony organised by the NSCDC, Abia State Command, for sixty-six (66) officers recently promoted to higher ranks.

The ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia, was attended by top management staff of the Corps, officers and men of the Command, family members of the promoted officers, and other invited guests.

While congratulating the newly decorated officers, the Commandant urged them to see their elevation as a renewed call to service and exemplary conduct. He also expressed appreciation to the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, for his unwavering support and commitment to the career progression and welfare of personnel across the Corps.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Abia State Command, ASC I Doreen Udugwu, the Commandant further encouraged officers who were not promoted in the exercise to remain focused, diligent and committed to their duties, assuring them that their efforts are recognised and would be rewarded in due course.

The Commandant reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to continue promoting merit, professionalism and motivation as key drivers of effective service delivery and security in Abia State.
