The State Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Abia State, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu says it takes the ability of a visionary leader like President Bola Tinubu to take hard decisions that is yielding results in Nigeria.
Ononogbu who was flanked by the state secretary of the party, Chief Chidi Avuaja and other members of the state working committee stated this on Thursday at the party secretariat Azikiwe road Umuahia, while receiving back to the party a prominent grassroot politician from Ahiaukwu ward 2 Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA of Abia state, Mark Ugorji, Chief Dike Nzenwa among others.
He commended Mr. President Bola Tinubu for appointing an Igbo man as Chief of Naval Staff, signing of the South East development commission, the support for Benjamin Kalu to be the deputy speaker, house of representatives among others. He said that the removal of feul subsidy was a good one that removed circle of criminality in the name of oil subsidy.
Dr Kingsley Ononogbu maintained that the South East did not give Tinubu much support in 2023, yet he had shown compassion to the zone, hence the need for the south east to support him in his the next presidential election come 2027.
While thanking Rep Benjamin Kalu for showing capacity and leadership, Ononogbu appreciated Mr Mark Ugoroji for his bold step to reactivate his relationship with APC.
He advised Mark to learnt from his past experience, promising that the party would accommodate him and others.
Dr Ononogbu stated that “you have no shame to market APC” and it will be the interest of south east to join APC”, the South south is leading in this game”. Edo has joined, Delta has joined and Akwa Ibom would join soon”.
A prominent member of APC in Umuahia South LGA, Engr Chris Okpechi commended Mark Ugoroji, Chief Dike Nzenwa among others for their courage to identify with APC.
He assured Ugorji of their unflinching support and stated that the crowd that accompanied Mark Ugoroji shows that they are in peace. Engr Okpechi urged him to remain steadfast.
Speaking earlier after receiving the symbol of APC, “the broom”, Mr Mark Ugoroji pledged his undiluted loyalty to the party.
Chief Mark who came to the party secretariat with all the ten wards in Umuahia South, appreciated President Bola Tinubu for his support to develop south east after little or no support for him in 2023.
According to him, “party members have assignment to convice people to support the President come 2027”.
Chief Mark Ugorji disclosed that he was sabotaged years back by some members of the party, adding that his mission to another party was orchestrated by such action.
Mark maintained that he care for the party and its members as a dedicated politician with integrity and vision.
