Orji Uzor Kalu Inaugurates 28-Member Technical Committee for Mascot Kalu’s 2027 Governorship Campaign

The Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has inaugurated a 28-member technical committee for the campaign organisation of Mascot Uzor Kalu, who is aspiring to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia State.

Inaugurating the committee at Mascot Kalu’s campaign headquarters in Umuahia on Saturday, the senator charged members of the team to remain committed and dedicated to the task ahead. He said the committee would play a key role in ensuring accountability in governance in the state.
Kalu stressed that the group must work towards promoting good governance in Abia, noting that beyond infrastructure development, the welfare of citizens must also be prioritised. Kalu said the technical committee would also give birth to other committees.

The former governor of Abia State accused the current administration led by Alex Otti of allegedly mismanaging local government resources and abandoning agricultural establishments across the state.

He also expressed concern that members of the Abia State House of Assembly were not asking critical questions about the activities of the state government, despite what he described as sufficient funds available to drive development.

The senator urged members of the committee to work towards ensuring that the All Progressives Congress secures victory in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections in the state. He added that the party would also mobilise support to deliver the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in Abia State.

Kalu further tasked the committee with developing a comprehensive blueprint that would guide governance if the party wins power in 2027, expressing optimism that the APC would emerge victorious.

Chairman of the technical committee, Barrister Anthony Agbazuere, thanked the party leadership and Senator Kalu for the confidence reposed in them. He assured that the committee would work diligently to justify the trust placed in it.

Also speaking, governorship hopeful Mascot Kalu said members of the committee were carefully selected to develop strategic plans for the campaign and to mobilise support across the state.

He affirmed that the team would work tirelessly to ensure the victory of the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Several members of the committee also pledged their commitment to the assignment. Among them were Ikechukwu Anyatuonwu, Chief Ogboso and Chief Emeka Stanley, who said they were motivated to deliver on their mandate.

Others, including Rev. Jimiama Ola-Kalu, Dr. Mrs. Ori Obasi, Dr. Elizabeth Esochaghi and Deaconess Rhoda Emeka, promised to promote the party’s policies and mobilise support among the people of Abia State, expressing confidence that unity within the party would strengthen opportunities for women and ensure electoral success.
