The Umuahia South Legislative council has passed a vote of confidence on the Member Representating Umuahia South State Constituency, Hon Chief Barrister Jerry Uzosike for being outstanding in his representation and changing the fortunes of people for good.
In a motion jointly moved by the Chief Whip, Umuahia South Legislative council and Councilor representing Ogbodiukwu Ward, Mr Ichie Igbokwe and seconded by the Deputy Leader Umuahia South Legislative council and Councilor representing Ohiaocha Ward Mr Okonko Ugochukwu during their Plenary on 16/12/2021 which was presided over by the Leader Umuahia South Legislative council, Chief Dennis Okorie .
The Members also adopted his second term candidacy for Umuahia South StateConstituency, adding that, Chief Jerry Uzosike has not only performed creditably especially in areas of Law-making, oversight functions and Legislature but he has done marvelously well through investing in human capital development, Provision of Social amenities, youths empowerment Program and securing job opportunities both in the State and Federal level for teeming unemployed youths in his constituent.
The Members also enumerated some of his developmental achievements so far to including construction of a three bedroom bungalow for a widow at Umuajata Olokoro, construction of a three bedroom bungalow for a Blind Man at Umuekwule Ezeleke Umuokpara, 3 industrial water projects at Apumiri market, Ahiaukwu Olokoro and Umuorighe villages in umuahia south, ongoing construction work of a three bedroom bungalow for a widow at Umuigwe Amakama, Construction of a four classroom block/Head Master’s office at Ohiya Community School, construction of a four classroom block at Ehume Community Primary School and ongoing construction work of a four classroom block at Umuako Primary School.
Others are, attraction of a four classroom block including Teacher’s offices at Egbelu Community School at Umunwanwa from UBE, reconstruction of Mentron Quarters in Umunwanwa Health Care Centre, donation of Educational support materials to Pupils and students.
The rest are construction and reticulation of water scheme at Umuorighe Laguru Ubakala, annual scholarship schemes for indigents scholars, annual hosting of Umuahia South Constituency Unity Competitions for 10 wards in the constituents and distribution of relief materials and households equipment to the people of his constituents.
The members further assured Chief Jerry Uzosike,Speaker of Abia State House of assembly, Chief Chinedum Orji, the Executive Chairman Umuahia South LGA, Dr Humphrey Benson and State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of their unwavering solidarity and support at all times.
