Widow seeks for justice over alleged killing of her son

A widow, Mrs. Mercy Nwakama has called on the State Government
and Human Rights Organizations to intervene over the allegedly killing of her only son, Mr. Nnaemeka Nwakama by some youths from Eziama village Nunya in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.

Speaking with newsman in Umuahia, Mrs. Nwakama who hails from
Osiri Community in Nunya in Isuikwuato alleged that the youth
Chairman of Eziama village, Mr. Chinonso Nwoke beat her only son to
death at Eziama village square.

According to Mrs. Nwakama, the youth Chairman of Eziama village
on the fifteenth of June 2024 in company of some youths from the
village stormed her house at Osiri Community Nunya and alleged that
her son stole their six gallons of palm oil.
She alleged that after they searched her house and could not find
anything incriminating they took him for interrogation at Eziama village
square where they beat him to death.

Mrs. Nwakama cried out for justice for her son who she said is
innocent and has no questionable character, adding that her son was a
graduate of GPD Abia State University Uturu who is supposed to be in NYSC orientation
camp

According to her the matter has been reported to the police while
the youths involved are now at large.

National Watch reports that the investigation revealed that the alleged killers had ran away, while the matter is in the police.
