Government’s Policy of Zero Tolerance for Corruption remains irrevocable~Abia HOS

Government has warned Civil Servants who made theft and corrupt practices their means of survival in the Service to change or face the consequences.

Addressing Civil Servants in Umuahia, the Head of Service, Mr Benson Ojeikere said Government is resolute in combating corruption and upholding ethical standards within the Civil Service.

The Head of Service who noted that pervasive theft and fraudulent activities have brought negative perception on the Public Service charged workers to eliminate these practices to restore the dignity and credibility of the Service.

Mr Ojeikere called on the workers to prioritize discipline, personal drive and a commitment to excellence in their duties and encouraged them to make sacrifices and focus on adding value to their roles rather than pursuing personal or financial gains.

Abia State, Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, the number one Civil Servant charged workers to strictly comply with the new Government operational procedures adding that acts of sabotaging it’s policies and programmes will not be condoned.

The Head of Service who further urged Civil Servants to adopt a positive mindset, and reflect on their conduct, called on the Public Service stakeholders to report unethical behaviors in the Service through the mobile number 0802 700 0051 or email on betterrservice@abiastate.gov.ng.
