The Quebo Primary School Umuajata Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State witnessed who is who in the local government including PDP big heads, as well as party supporters as the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Honourable Barrister Jerry Uzosike handed over a Bungalow built for an indigent widow, Mrs Chinwe Anyaso.
The event also featured the empowerment of some people with generator set and deep refrigerator, while many others smiled home with 25kg bag of rice.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu applauded the current house of assembly under the leadership of Rt Hon Chinedum Orji.
He eulogised Jerry Uzosike for his quality representation and contribution to the success of the current house, adding that reward for hard work is more work. According to Oko Chukwu, Jerry is doing well, urging him to maintain the tempo.
The Speaker of Abia State House of assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orjisaid he will continue to encourage people like Hon Jerry who are doing well, adding that it is ridiculous to see public office holders frustrate their followers by not blessing them with profits of their position.
The speaker noted that stakeholders in the party has much contributions to bless those vying for elective posts, therefore, he explained that many politicians have climbed higher due to their outstanding records and thanked Jerry Uzosike for remembering his people.
He urged the youths and women to always support public office holders who are doing well in office. The speaker thanked traditional rulers for the chieftaincy title of “Oke Nwa Ndi Olokoro” and said he would be more happier when the stadium at Olokoro High School would be commissioned. He also emphasized the need for public office holders to create their own part.
In his speech, the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency in the state house of assembly, Hon Jerry Uzosike thanked God for giving him the enablement to accomplish the house project for the indigent widow.
He appreciated the corporation of his political allies, his wife, Ogechi Cares Organization world wide and particularly Olokoro people for the quantum of love he has enjoyed from them. Jerry disclosed that has been carrying all the three clans in Umuahia South constituency along in the scheme of things and promised not to rubbish the confidence reposed on him. He further appreciated Olokoro traditional rulers for honouring him with chieftaincy title and announced that his achievements so far is tremendous.
The third deputy chairman, Abia state council of traditional rulers, Eze Godfrey Onwuka accompanied by other traditional rulers including the state chairman Abia state council of traditional rulers, Eze Ndubuisi Nwabekee, Chairman Olokoro clan council of traditional rulers, Eze Boniface Izuogu bestowed on the speaker Rt Hon Chinedum Orji the honour of Okenwa Olokoro and Hon Jerry Uzosike as Omenka Ahurunanya one of Olokoro.
Earlier in his welcome address, the President General of Olokoro Development Union, Dike Nzenwa expressed happiness to Jerry Uzosike for building the modern edifice for the widow.
He noted that bungalow donated to Mrs Chinwe Anyaso and presentation of rice as well as refrigerators speaks volume of his love to his people. Nzenwa applauded the speaker for the ongoing construction of a mini standard stadium at Olokoro High School and Senator Theodore Orji for the ongoing divisional police station in Olokoro.
He also acknowledged other dividends of democracy under the sponsorship of Hon Jerry Uzosike, Mr speaker, Chinedum Orji and Senator Theodore Orji.
He appealed to Abia State government to pay attention to deplorable roads leading to Olokoro, as well listed other roads within Olokoro that need government intervention.
Nzenwa thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for approving the reconstruction of Old Timber Olokoro road, adding that when completed, the road would ease heavy traffic witnessed on the road.
On her part, the beneficiary of the house, Mrs Chinwe Anyaso thanked God for using Hon Jerry Uzosike to bless her and her family.
Mrs Anyaso prayed God to fulfill the heart desires of Hon Jerry, protect and bless him the more.
