The media team of APC governorship aspirant in Abia State, Mr. Eric Opah, has dismissed allegations circulating on social media claiming that he endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the team stated that Opah has never, either directly or indirectly, endorsed Governor Otti’s re-election bid.
The statement described the allegations as false propaganda aimed at tarnishing the image and credibility of the APC chieftain.
According to the media team, critics should provide evidence showing where Opah publicly endorsed Governor Otti or explain any contract he allegedly executed for the present administration.
The statement further clarified that Opah spoke in the trending video strictly in his capacity as the President General of Nsulu and on behalf of the people of the community.
It noted that his remarks were merely an appreciation to Governor Otti for appointing an Nsulu son into a key position and not an endorsement of the governor for a second term.
The media team described attempts to interpret the comments as anti-party activity as laughable and misleading.
It maintained that Opah remains loyal to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and is committed to ensuring that the party wins power in Abia State and other levels of government.
The statement added that Opah remains focused on uniting party members and carrying everyone along if given the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2027 election.
