Azode Inaugurates Local Boys 4 Otti Coordinators, Urges Members to Obtain PVCs

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Chukwuma Azode, popularly known as “China,” has charged members of Local Boys 4 Otti 2027 to remain focused and work together with unity of purpose.

Comrade Azode gave the charge on Thursday during the inauguration of Abia South senatorial zone executives and coordinators of Local Boys 4 Otti 2027 held at Rosies Hotel in Aba.

At the event, he urged the leadership to remain active and attentive to the concerns of members.

According to him, the group would achieve greater success when members share progressive ideas geared towards the development of Abia State.

He stressed that the movement does not need sycophants but people with genuine and progressive minds committed to the growth of the state.

Azode also stated that anyone claiming to support Governor Alex Otti without possessing a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) was not serious about re-electing him in 2027.

He urged members of Local Boys 4 Otti 2027 to obtain their PVCs, describing the cards as the gateway to participating in the electoral process, their future meetings and supporting the present administration.

The NURTW chairman further reaffirmed that the government of Governor Otti does not support touting and encouraged members to register properly as members of the Labour Party through e-registration.

He also emphasized the importance of members appearing in full regalia during political events and directed them to liaise with their coordinators for their uniforms.

During the inauguration, Azode announced Odinakachi Onuha as the coordinator for Osisioma Local Government Area, while Hon. Amadi Owuala was named coordinator for Obingwa LGA among others.

Speaking further, Azode said the major objective of the movement is to protect communities and ensure that political activities, especially elections, are properly managed to guarantee free and fair polls in 2027.

He added that the group remains open to all residents and indigenes of Abia State who are enjoying the dividends of democracy under the current administration.

Addressing the issue of PVC ownership, Azodo said the movement would continue sensitizing people on the importance of obtaining their voter cards.

According to him, without a PVC, citizens cannot vote for candidates of their choice during elections.

He described the PVC as the only legitimate means through which eligible voters can participate in the electoral process, stressing that the group’s continuous advocacy is aimed at encouraging wider participation in future elections.
