Abia State Director, National Orientation Agency, Dame Ngozi Okechukwu has called on traditional rulers and mothers not to allow politicians use their children as thugs to ferment trouble in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Dame Okechukwu was speaking at the palace of His Royal Majesty, Eze Benson Asonye of Amapu Ntigha ancient kingdom in Isialangwa North LGA of Abia State.
She charged the traditional rulers to unite their subjects especially the youth with the message of tolerance and peaceful coexistence now that the 2023 general election is fast approaching.
The NOA director spoke through an assistant director in the Agency, Mr Ndubuisi Anozie, harped on the need to reject Politicians who are out to manipulate the citizens for their selfish ambitions.
In a related development, the NOA Director, Dame Ngozi Okechukwu in an interactive session with wives of traditional rulers in Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area during their monthly general meeting of wives of traditional rulers at the council headquarters in Okpuala Ngwa called on mothers not to allow politicians to ruin the destiny of their children.
In their separate responses, the traditional ruler of Amapu Ntigha ancient kingdom, His Royal Magesty Eze Benson Asonye and the chairperson wives of traditional rulers Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ugoeze Ihuoma Aliche commended the National Orientation Agency, for the advocacy visits on voter education and pledged to uphold the tenants of peace and mutual coexistence and promised to convey the message to their communities.
Also in a sensitization programme with members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Union Amaorji Market branch Mr Chinwe Ndudim executive member NURTW motorcycle and tricycle branch commended NOA for coming to sensitize their members on how to vote and participate in the forthcoming general elections.
