Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has represented Nigeria at Spain’s National Day celebration held in Madrid on October 12.
Ikpeazu joined King Felipe VI, members of the Spanish Royal Family and other dignitaries at the event, which featured a military parade, aerial displays and tributes to Spain’s national history and fallen service personnel.
The Ambassador’s participation highlighted the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement between Nigeria and Spain as both countries seek to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, education, energy and cultural exchange.

Ikpeazu said diplomacy goes beyond formal agreements to include relationship-building, mutual understanding and the creation of opportunities for citizens of both countries.
He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Spain, noting that participation in significant national events reflects the country’s dedication to friendship, dialogue and constructive international partnerships.
Nigeria and Spain continue to explore opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation, with diplomatic engagement serving as an important platform for advancing shared interests and fostering stronger ties between their peoples.
