Abia State Government Inaugurates ALGON Officials

The newly appointed Mayors who will serve as Abia State ALGON (Association of Local Government of Nigeria) Officials have been inaugurated.

Speaking during the Inauguration, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu congratulated the Mayors for their meritorious appointment as ALGON Leaders in the State and urge them to use their wealth of experience to take ALGON to an enviable height.

Nwachukwu also thanked the Governor, Dr Alex Otti (OFR) for his genuine interest for the welfare of Local Government Areas in the State which lead to his approval of their appointment and prayed God to grant them wisdom and direction throughout the period they will serve.

Responding, the Chairman and also the Mayor of Isialangwa South LGA, Dr Elelenta Nwambuisi Elele thanked the Governor, Dr Alex Otti for finding them fit to serve in the capacity as ALGON Officials and assure him that they will do their best to rewrite the wrongs in the Local Government System.

Dr Elelenta also used the Occasion to solicit support from all concerned in order to achieve the new Local Government System in the State.

In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Florence Chidinma Nwogu Congratulated the Officials and thanked the Governor Dr Alex Otti and the Commissioner Prince Uzor Nwachukwu for their commitment towards repositioning the Local Government System and therefore prayed God to guide the Officials in realising the good dreams of the present Administration towards the Local Government Areas.

Highpoint of the Occasion was the presentation of Letters of Appointment to the Officials who are Dr Elelenta Nwambuisi Elele Chairman, Dr Eric Egwuibe Secretary, Chief Joe Ezearu Treasurer by the Hon Commissioner.

The Occasion has in attendance the Director of Local Government Department, Mr Ben Ononogbu.
