The Former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Comrade Chris Akomas.
Comrade Akomas has stressed the need for the people of Nenu community to protect all the infrastructure put in place at the newly commissioned Nenu General Hospital.
Akomas stated this shortly after the project was commissioned by the immediate past Governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu at Nenu in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State as one of his last assignments before leaving office.
National Watch recalled that the dream of a General Hospital was conceived more than a decade ago while Akomas was still serving as the state deputy Governor.
Comrade Akomas who is a Federal Commissioner at the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Abuja representing Abia State, in nostalgia recalled all the efforts by his kinsmen in seeing to the completion of the project, even as he expressed happiness for their contribution in seeing that the project was achieved.
Comrade Akomas disclosed that equipping the hospital with Ultra modern medical equipments will be completed before long even as he called on the people of the community, especially the youths to safeguard all the equipment that are being installed in the hospital, including dialysis machines among others.
He recalled how the first 18 beds were procured and brought in to the hospital even as he reminded the people of the roles played by Erondu Junior and the then chairman of the council area, Kelechi Nwankpa; Raymond Nkpuruoma Aliga, Chief Okezie Anyamele, among others in achieving the health facility, including erecting staff quarters for the health personnel, sinking of borehole and assured that the perimeter fence of the edifice will be concluded before long. Nkpuru oma was given the contract of the building.
According to him, there are work yet to be done even as he vowed that he will not stop until the hospital gets all the needed equipment that will make it stand out as a general Hospital just as he thanked God for
his great benevolence on his people of Nenu.
He also commended the outgone Governor of the state for keeping to his promise of coming to commission the all important project.
