Be role models & agents of positive change, NOA charges youths

A call has gone to the youths to imbibe the tenet of the National Core Values of the country as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution and be agents of positive change .

The call was made by the State Director National Orientation Agency NOA Abia State, Mrs Regina Iroha during a sensitization programme with Integrity Clubs in some Secondary Schools in Umuahia. She charged the students to be role models and agents of positive change in the society, as future Leaders to inculcate the positive values in their lives and to correct the mistakes of the past.

The NOA Director charged the students to uphold the tenets of the Nigeria National Core Values of Discipline, Integrity, Dignity of Labour, Social Justice, Religious Tolerance, Self Reliance and Patriotism, as enshrined in chapter 2 section 23 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. She said the country can only change if only everyone has respect for the national core values.

Mrs Iroha restated that Nigerians cannot have good governance and citizens without harnessing the national core values of the country, adding that the essence of the Integrity Club in schools was to catch them young and to inculcate among the youths positive life style.

The NOA Director remained the students and members of the integrity club as role model who should fight corruption and any other forms of social vices rather to be epitome of honesty that will influence other members of the society and bring the desired positive values in the country.

In their separate responses the principals of Havilah Mission, School, Cobiba International school, JOMEG School commended the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Abia State for the formation of Integrity Clubs and the programme on value reorientation which has positively impacted on the lives of the children and pledge to sustain the partnership with NOA.
