Engr. Godswill C. Ubani, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his continued membership and commitment to the party, as well as his support for its presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.
Ubani gave the assurance on Saturday, October 3, 2026, when he hosted NDC leaders, executives and stakeholders from Umuahia South Local Government Area and its ten wards at his country home in Okwu, Olokoro, Umuahia South, Abia State.

The meeting provided an opportunity for Ubani to appreciate party leaders, executives and members for their commitment and support for the NDC.
He said the NDC remained the political platform through which he believed a new Nigeria could be achieved, stressing that he remained committed to the party and its programmes.
Ubani also reaffirmed his support for all candidates presented by the NDC, including its candidates for the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship and, in particular, the party’s presidential candidate, *Mr. Peter Obi*.
Responding to a question on his political aspiration for the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Ubani said the matter was currently before the court and was therefore not part of the meeting’s agenda.
He said the legal process should be allowed to run its course and expressed confidence that the court would do justice to the matter.
Ubani, however, urged his supporters to continue working for the success of the NDC and to support all candidates fielded by the party across the various levels of government.
He called on party members to remain calm, united and committed, while intensifying grassroots mobilisation and efforts aimed at strengthening the party.
Stakeholders from the three local government areas who attended the meeting also called for greater cooperation and unity among party members, urging them to remain focused on the growth and success of the NDC.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with renewed assurances of Ubani’s commitment to the NDC and a collective resolve among party leaders and stakeholders to continue working together for the success of the party at all levels.
Among those who attended were the NDC Chairman for Umuahia South LGA, Chief Franklin Odimgba; NDC Chairman for Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Ndubuisi Onwuegbule; NDC Chairman for Ikwuano LGA, Hon. Dennis Okebugwu; Chairman of all NDC Ward Chairmen in Umuahia South LGA, Hon. Ifeanyi Caesar Nwoko; all LGA officers of the NDC in Umuahia South and all ten ward officers of the party.
The meeting was hosted by Engr. Godswill C. Ubani, also known as Agu Ji Egbe-1.
