Abia State commissioner for small and medium scale enterprises, SMEs and new businesses development Mrs Adaku Oseiza says she has passion for the new post having being manager to many successful businesses.
Mrs Oseiza stated this during the official hand over ceremony to her by the permanent secretary, ministry of SME, Mr Nkwachukwu Agomoh at their office in umuahia, saying that she has been involved in made in Aba projects. She announced that soon the managers of made in Aba shoes will roll out the first phase of their product and as a team player, pledged to bring out her best and also ready to welcome ideas from the entire staff of the ministry.
According to her, the portfolio will afford her and the management of the ministry of SME to lift many people out from poverty, promising to assist business owners after training to have access to capital for their business to grow. She revealed that it is her desire to see many people especially the youth progress in their businesses after receiving adequate training.
She added that Aba is known to be the China of Africa and had been a member of people promoting made Aba goods, acknowledging the support of all partners with the ministry of SME.
Earlier in his speech, the permanent secretary of the ministry, Mr Nkwachukwu Agomoh said the governor has given approval for maiden SMEs-directory for all business owners where partners could assess their businesses easily.
Mr Agomoh disclosed that the ministry has at least three thousand directory number of SMEs with their details, explained that the presence of the new commissioner with spur them carry out most of their projects at hand.
He used the forum to congratulate the new commissioner and also appreciated the immediate past commissioner, Onyema Wachuku for his role to see that the ministry grew from strength to strength.
Mr Agomoh while rolling out the achievements of the ministry and plans on ground, promised that the ministry will give all necessary assistance to the new commissioner to enable her succeed in her task.
He added that the ministry working as a team, has interventions, partnership and understanding with SMEDAN, CBN, Education for Employment, among others to service their clients better.
