The Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement has inaugurated 13 ward coordinators representing the 13 political wards of Umuahia South State Constituency, in a strategic effort to strengthen its grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 Abia State House of Assembly election.
The inauguration is part of the movement’s ongoing mobilisation efforts to secure widespread support for Hon. Ifeanyi Kingsley Ekwuribe, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer for Umuahia South State Constituency, as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections intensify.
Speaking during the inauguration, Hon. Ifeanyi Kingsley Ekwuribe, who was represented by Mr. Jerry Oriaku, congratulated the newly inaugurated coordinators and urged them to remain proactive, transparent, diligent and straightforward in their dealings with one another and members of the movement.

Oriaku charged the coordinators to give their best towards ensuring the success of Ekwuribe at the polls. He urged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation, engage voters and take the message, vision and aspirations of the Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement to every part of Umuahia South State Constituency.
He also emphasised the need for peace and harmonious relationships throughout the campaign and election period, urging the coordinators to shun violence and conduct themselves as ambassadors of peace, unity and responsible political participation.
Following the inauguration of the 13 ward coordinators, Mr. Chidozie Sunday was elected Director-General of the Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement.
Addressing the newly inaugurated coordinators, Sunday pledged his full cooperation and support as they discharge their responsibilities. He said his leadership would remain open to advice and constructive criticism, noting that the success of the movement would depend on teamwork, collective ideas and mutual understanding.
The new Director-General further urged the coordinators to remain committed, truthful and respectful in their dealings with one another. He directed each coordinator to return to their respective wards and commence the process of establishing the Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement ward executives.
Sunday assured the coordinators that he would be available to inaugurate the ward executives once they were ready, stressing that a strong and functional ward structure would be critical to the movement’s success and the achievement of its political objectives.
Representatives of the three major clans in Umuahia South State Constituency Olokoro, Ubakala and Umuokpara also addressed the gathering and expressed their support for Ekwuribe.
The representatives pledged to work assiduously towards ensuring his victory in the 2027 election, maintaining that, in the spirit of fairness, equity and justice, it is the turn of Olokoro to produce the next representative for Umuahia South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
They therefore expressed their collective determination to support Ekwuribe’s aspiration and ensure that he emerges victorious at the polls.
The inauguration ceremony, which was attended by stakeholders and supporters of the movement, ended with prayers for the success of the Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement, its leadership and the aspiration of Hon. Ifeanyi Kingsley Ekwuribe.
With the inauguration of the 13 ward coordinators and the emergence of a Director-General to oversee the movement’s activities, the Ifeanyichukwu Political Movement is set to intensify its grassroots mobilisation across Umuahia South State Constituency.
As preparations for the 2027 election gather momentum, the movement is expected to deepen its engagement with communities and voters across the constituency.
