The Ikwuano Elders Forum, in collaboration with workers of the Ikwuano Local Government Area and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikwuano Chapter, has unanimously endorsed Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for a second term ahead of the 2027 Abia State governorship election.
The endorsement was made during a gathering of elders, stakeholders, community leaders, and representatives of various groups within the local government area.
The forum reaffirmed its confidence in Governor Otti’s leadership, citing his transformational governance, infrastructural development, and commitment to improving the lives of Abians.
Members expressed satisfaction with the ongoing developmental projects and reforms being implemented across the state and pledged their continued support for the administration. They further declared that the people of Ikwuano would overwhelmingly support Dr. Otti in the 2027 election as a demonstration of appreciation for what they described as his outstanding performance, visionary leadership, and people-centered governance.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Henry Eleogu emphasized that the Ikwuano Elders Forum is not a partisan political organization but a body of concerned and like-minded elders dedicated to the growth, development, and progress of Ikwuano and Abia State.
Also speaking, Hon. Innocent Prince Eleogu informed participants that support for Governor Otti had continued to grow beyond the Labour Party, noting that other political groups, including the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Ikwuano Chapter, had also expressed their endorsement of the governor.
The motion for the endorsement and adoption of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti was moved by Dr. Obinna Okeugo and seconded by Elder Amaefula and Chief Chukwudi Okwum, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ikwuano Chapter.
The endorsement was also extended to other Labour Party candidates, including Rt. Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha, and Hon. Isienyi Boniface.
Among the notable personalities in attendance were Hon. Innocent Prince Eleogu, Catechist. Ambrose Jonah, Hon. Isienyi Boniface, Hon. Lucky Awuwa, His Royal Majesty Eze Charles Ukata, Pastor Mike Nwaka, General Superintendent of Soldiers of Christ Church, Chief Elubula Okezie, Comrade Ndubuisi Okezue of NULGE Ikwuano Chapter, Comrade Victoria Ndubuisi, State NUT Officer, and Professor Ogbonna, among others.
