Stakeholders have been charged to join in the fight to curb violence against women and girls in the society .
The coordinator National Human Right Commission, Barrister Uche Nwokeocha made this charge during a stakeholder’s round table meeting, as part of their 16days activism on violence against women in the state in Umuahia.
Barrister Nwokeocha who pointed out that offences like Rape, defilement, incest, coercion amongst others are heavy crime, said that all hands must be on deck to achieve a good result, adding that women’s right must be protested .
She further encouraged victims of gender based violence to speak up as well as report such cases to the National Human Right Commission or the nearest police station.
