A political support group, Alex Otti 4+4 Movement 2027: A People-Driven Development Movement for Abia State, has officially launched its campaign to mobilise widespread grassroots and institutional backing for the re-election of Governor Alex Otti in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
Addressing journalists in Umuahia, the Chairman of the movement, Hon. Chibueze Daniel Okah, alongside the Chairman of its Governing Council, Ijioma Obasi Ijioma, said the initiative is focused on sustaining good governance, economic transformation, and long-term development across Abia State.
They explained that the group’s primary goal is to galvanise support at all levels to ensure continuity in leadership, while consolidating ongoing reforms in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and public service delivery.
According to them, the movement will also highlight the achievements of the current administration to strengthen public confidence, noting that Governor Otti’s government has recorded notable improvements in infrastructure and sectoral reforms.
The leaders outlined key objectives of the group to include building a strong support base across all local government areas, engaging youths, women, traders, and professionals in the political process, and strengthening grassroots structures down to ward and unit levels.
On voter education, the group pledged to sensitise citizens on the importance of leadership continuity, promote peaceful and credible elections, and counter misinformation with verified information on government performance.
They further emphasised youth empowerment and inclusion, stating that the movement will encourage active youth participation in governance while supporting policies that promote job creation, entrepreneurship, and digital opportunities.
In the area of economic advocacy, the group said it would champion policies aimed at industrial revival, investment promotion, and initiatives such as waste-to-wealth programmes and strategic industrial partnerships.
The movement also plans to strengthen political structures by collaborating with existing platforms, traditional institutions, and civil society organisations, while fostering unity among supporters to avoid internal conflicts.
Promoting peace and political stability remains a key focus, with the group advocating issue-based campaigns and discouraging violence and propaganda. It also intends to serve as a feedback channel between the government and the people, while monitoring project implementation to ensure accountability.
On media and public engagement, the group said it would leverage social media, radio, and community outreach to showcase government achievements and promote positive narratives around governance.
As part of its election preparedness strategy, the movement will support voter registration drives and coordinate mobilisation efforts for effective participation in the 2027 polls.
The group stressed that the Alex Otti 4+4 Movement 2027 is envisioned not merely as a campaign platform, but as a people-driven development initiative committed to sustaining progress and deepening democratic values in Abia State.
