It was a gathering of many prominent people, successful business men and women, government officials, clergymen, friends and well wishers as they attended the 60th birthday of the founder of the Holy Ghost Day Bible Church, Archbishop Chikezie Elekwa.
The event was held at the church headquarters, Amuzukwu Ibeku, in Umuahia north local government area of Abia State.
While some prominent broadcasters like Adaeze Iregbu, Bright Ejike (I go yan baba) Uche Ama Ohakah, Johnson Ikechukwu (JI) anchored the event, the ceremony witnessed beautiful interlude, as well as harvest of gifts to Archbishop Elekwa.
Also, the likes of Archbishop Chibuzo Opoko, the Methodist Archdiocese of Umuahia Archdiocese, the immediate state chairman of the Christian association of Nigeria, CAN, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuo, Pastor Chioma Ibezim, Rev Uche Ume, some government officials among others graced the occasion.
Speaking at the event, the Governor of Abia state, Dr Alex Otti celebrated the grace of God upon the life of the celebrant and Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN Abia State Chapter, ArchBishop Chikezie Elekwa.
Otti who was represented by his deputy governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, said that Bishop Elekwa has been a blessing to the state. He added that the bishop’s feats in the vineyard of God was a manifestation of God’s grace and presence in his life.
The Governor maintained that the celebrant has through his services to God and mankind, excelled in a special way and prayed that God would continue to reinforce and stand by him in all his papal and earthly duties. Dr Otti also assured that the state would continue to identify with men of God like Bishop Elekwa in repositioning the state.
Speaking on the topic, “the bundles of life” a guest preacher, Rt Rev Dr Newlife Ugochukwu stated that what makes a life weighty is his relationship with God. He listed the three ingredients that makes life of a man weighty to include: fruit of repentance, fruit of the spirit and the fruit of reighteouness. Ugochukwu described archbishop Elekwa as a weighty man, who grew from grass to grace.
The President of Vision Africa international, Bishop Sunday Onuoha who proposed the toast, described Archbishop Elekwa as a great man who has dedicated his life to the service of God. He added that Elekwa is a gentle man with character and joined others to wish him well in many years to come.
In his response, the celebrant and founder of Holy Ghost Day Bible Church, Archbishop Elekwa thanked God for what He has done in his life and for what God is using him to do in the life of people.
Bishop Elekwa said that his 60th birthday was also inline with their 35 years marriage anniversary.
Elekwa recalled multiple challenges he had faced in life including evil plots that would have eliminated him, which he conquered by the grace of God. The cleric said he decided to mark his 60th birthday to thank God for His grace upon him.
He appreciated Dr Otti and others who came to identify and celebrate with him.
