Abia Restoration Movement has appealed to a former minister of state for science and technology, Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh to restore the state and vie for GOVERNOR seat of Abia State come 2027.
The Coordinator, Abia Restoration Movement (Harmony 2027) Honourable Prince Ikedi Ezekwesiri made the appeal on Thursday while Interacting with newsmen in Umuahia.
According to him, Chief Ikoh has the character; resilience and humility to lead ndi Abia to the
Promised Land. He pointed out that Ikoh’s Industry experience-and versed exposure is a veritable advantage coupled with his utmost sense of humanity, the eroded confidence of an average Abian shall be restored.
Ikedi said “We therefore plead with Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh (Ozurumba) to please hearken to our request and answer the Clarion call to come lead as Abia as the Governo: come 2027.
Prince IKedi extolled what he called the native patriotism of the former minister, Henry Ikoh whom he described as someone who has the pedigree to turn things around for good.
He noted that Chief Henry Ikoh is humble, human, philanthropist and feels the pains of people. The former law maker insisted that Ikoh is someone who knows how to develop boys to men having done well in his private life and urged him to accept the call to run in 2027.
Honourable Ikedi said after a careful due diligence on eminent Abia sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora, who are qualified to lead Abia State, they wish to appeal to their dear son and the former minister of State for Science and Technology to please consider and run as the Governorship candidate of Abia state come 2027.
He said this call is coming on the heels of his qualifications and many years of cognate field experiences as an administrator, business manager and human capital developer and sagacious politician.
Ikedi maintained that 184 persons from the electoral wards had endorsed Ikoh and believed that he would listen to them.
“For us we have qualified Abians, but we found in him as a worthy son to run, we found in him what I called native patriotism. By this I mean Abia patriotism because he has supported growth in Abia through his harmony foam company and we have accessed him.
“If he will accept our appeal to run, in 2027. I want to assure Abians that if Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, (Ozurumba) accepts to run, there will not be any regrets.
“We are confident that Ozurumba will bridge the wide gap that exists between our people and the leadership of.gur state. As such, the people, who are the real owners of the government will be restored to power to equitably enjoy the fruits of their land. That applies also to the stakeholders who are sidelined and dumped for estranged ‘billionaires’ whose only claim to patriotism is rooted in their wanton disregard to the dignity of our people who have laboured assiduously to the growth of the state.
“With a personality like Chief Henry Ikoh, a pragmatic business man and entrepreneur, who understands the importance of division of labour, the tenets of true democracy will be restored, thus separation of power between the three arms of government will be a given”.
He said that the movement is using this opportunity to drive their appeal to Ozurumba and come out and run for GOVERNORSHIP of Abia 2027. Hon Ezekwesiri said they did not wake up from slumber or any manner of influence but their willingness, observations on Ikoh and sure of his quality.
He maintained that Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh understands the fabrics and texture of Abia politics very well and described him as compassionate. He disclosed that in 1996, Chief Ikoh built one of the functioning companies in Ikwuano which underscores his degree of native patriotism (that company harmony foam has been functioning since 1996 till now) and one can emerging how many families the company feeds.
According to IKedi, the company has developed boys to men and believes if Ikoh becomes Governor, he will develop men into institutions.
Having done that in his private life, IKedi believes that Chief Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh can manage resources well, a known philanthropist, stressing that Abians need a governor that will feel direct feel and touch with the people and not someone that will subject people to pain before they see him.
The former law maker insisted that in Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh, people will have fertile access with him as governor, and assured he will give us functional access to livelihood. ” This is why we are asking and pleading with him, Ozurumba wherever you are, the movement for the restoration of Abia State is asking you, come and run.
While answering questions, the former law maker that represented Umunneochi state constituency in Abia State house of assembly denied the report that a serving governor in one of the south east states is sponsoring Chief Ikoh
to vie for number one position in Abia State in 2027.
The former law maker posited that the former minister has made his ambition known way back 1999 and contested governorship seat several times on his capacity.
