It was a joyous day on Monday 20th January, 2025 as the family members, friends, well wishers trooped out en masse to be with one of their illustrious sons of Mbom Ibeku, Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi.
Those who honoured Apostle Jumah’s invitation were present when the traditional ruler of Ata 11 of Afarata Ibeku autonomous community, HRM Eze Sir Felix Osquared Onwukwe in company with other traditional rulers honoured some personalities of the community including her sister with Chieftaincy titles.
The event which was held at the Methodist Church field, Umuana Mbom Afarata Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State, drew the attention of other heads of Ibeku. However the arena was adorned with cultural music, while family members of Apostle Jumah attended the event with royal attire.
Before the presentation of awards to the deserving persons, the traditional prime minister of Afarata Ibeku, Chief Ugochukwu Ndubuka said the recognition was attracted by their contributions to the development of their community.
At the second anniversary of Eze Felix Osquared Onwukwe, Apostle Jumah Ibeagbazi was honoured with the traditional title of “Akuruo Ulo 1 of Afarata”. (In Igbo land, this title means that Chief Jumah’s wealth or resources have been felt by his immediate community).
The traditional rulers prayed that God would continue to bless Chief Jumah Ibeagbazi and urged him not to relent.
Eze Onwukwe commended Chief Jumah for building Modaly Solar Powered Digital litracy Center and Library in the community. He added that Chief Jumah also supported his annual free medical outreach for 2025 with other donations.
Responding, the chairman of Modaly Solar Powered Digital litracy Center and Library , Chief Jumah Chibuike Ibeagbazi from Ndagbo Mbom Afarata Ibeku commended Eze Felix Onwunkwe for his zeal to develop the Mbom community. Jumah who resides in the United States appreciated Eze Onwukwe for the award of a chieftaincy title and promised to continue being a good ambassador of the community.
He described Eze Osquared as an excellent king, even before his kingship who is living an exemplary life which people like him looked up to.
Apostle Jumah recalled the efforts of Eze Osquared made when their community had no light for a long time which inspired him more to invest in the community.
Chief Jumah added that many interventions executed by Eze Felix Osquared Onwukwe spurred him and his wife to build the Modaly Solar Powered Digital litracy Center and Library at Ndagbo Mbom Afarata Ibeku through their non-profit organization called “Modaly”.
He disclosed that their goal is to make life different no matter how little, adding that the Modaly Solar Powered Digital litracy Center has 24 hours of light, internet and other modern facilities including computers to reflect what is trending.
