Dr Ononogbu
Due to the demise Enyinna Harbor, the All Progressive Congress, APC has elected Dr Kingsley Ononogbu as the new chairman of the party in Abia State.
The emergency of Dr Ononogbu during a special congress in umuahia followed the death of Mr Enyinna Harbor elected chairman of APC in Abia State on 16th October, 2021, who later died towards the end of 2021 at University Teaching Hospital, Enugu, allegedly on Thursday 9th December, 2021.
Committee chairman of the special congress, Honourable Kolawole Babatunde from Ondo State, said Dr Kingsley Ononogbu who was elected unopposed polled one thousand and sixty seven votes to emerge the winner.
He debunked that Abia has parallel executive and added that if there is atom of doubt on who is the authentic executive of APC in Abia, the party has a mechanism to resolve it.
Hon Kolawole
Kolawole disclosed that he was sent by Governor Mai Mala Buni led care taker national working committee to conduct the election and fill the vacant seat.
In his acceptance speech, the new chairman of APC in Abia State, Dr Kingsley Ononogbu thanked the committee that organised the special congress for their quick response to a difficult situation.
He promised to bring effective leadership to the party and hard work to take APC to it’s desired position in the state. Dr Ononogbu used the forum to paid special tribute to the late chairman, Enyinna Harbor whom he said was unshaken, determined and ready to take the party higher, especially as the 2023 general election approaches.
In a special way, he appreciated the leader of APC in Abia State, High Chief Ikechi Emenike, Hon Nkiru Onyejeocha, Sir Friday Nwosu, Hon Emeka Okoroafor to mention but a few.
Interacting with newsmen, the member representing Isukwuato/ Umunneochi federal constituency, Nkiru Onyejeocha, publicity secretary of the party, Okey Ezeala, former publicity secretary of APC, Comrade Benedict Godson and Sir Friday Nwosu insisted that APC is one in Abia State.
They maintained that the congress indicated that the party is alive to it’s activities, while pledging support to the new chairman.

Former publicity secretary of APC in Abia State, Benedict Godson said himself, the former legal Adviser, Barrister Menyechi and former organising secretary are now in the main stream of Abia APC and called on others in Donatus Nwankpa group to join them to move the party forward.
