The media team of Dr. Eric Opah has dismissed claims circulating on social media alleging that he endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement, the team clarified that Dr. Opah’s remarks in the viral video were made strictly in his capacity as the President General of Nsulu and not as a politician.
According to the statement, his comments were limited to appreciating the appointment of an Nsulu indigene as Chief of Staff to the Governor and did not in any way amount to a political endorsement.
The statement further explained that Dr. Opah merely conveyed the desire of many Nsulu indigenes to host Governor Otti in recognition of developmental efforts in the area, stressing that there was nothing partisan in his remarks.
The media team lamented what it described as the growing spread of propaganda in the political space, accusing some individuals of deliberately twisting innocent comments to score cheap political points.
It also noted that critics ignored the aspect of the video where Dr. Opah drew the Governor’s attention to the poor condition of roads in Nsulu and called for urgent intervention.
The statement urged members of the public to separate facts from political propaganda, insisting that Dr. Eric Opah remains a committed chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
It described as absurd allegations that he engaged in anti-party activities simply because he appealed for government attention to the deplorable roads in his community.
The media team reaffirmed that Dr. Eric Opah’s loyalty remains firmly with the APC and would continue to do so.
