 ABSU SIGNS HEALTH INSURANCE MoU FOR STUDENTS.

Students of Abia State University (ABSU) Uturu, will soon begin to enjoy better and prompt health care delivery services of global standard  following the signing of a Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with a reputable Health Management Organization (HMO), Health Care International (HCI) limited, lagos, by the Student welfare oriented administration of the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi Maxwell Ogbulu.

The approved HMO, was preferred among others following their track records with other higher institutions and corporate organizations across the country to deliver effective health services to the students in diverse  health areas and across locations.

Speaking during the signing of the MOU, the Vice Chancellor, Distinguished Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu, expressed joy at the conclusion of the process, and domestication of a Health insurance policy for students of ABSU and thanked His Excellency, Senator Adolphus Wabara, PhD, led Governing Council for their support and approval for this to happen during his administration after many consultations and interviews over the years.

He advised the HCI to engage the students regularly to discover their peculiar needs for effective health delivery, adding that life is a risk, but the health insurance policy will minimize the risk particularly for students in these times.

In a vote of thanks, the Acting Managing Director of HCI limited, Osumah A. I, thanked the Vice Chancellor and Management for the opportunity to be selected as the HMO of the University, and assured they will deliver beyond their terms of reference, to encourage students, who are leaders of tommorow to domesticate the health care policy in the leadership positions they may occupy in future.

Present at the signing of the MOU, after thorough study by all, were members of Management, Dean, Student affairs, Medical Director and legal officers of the University, as well as the SUG and SRC executives of the University.
