Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and her Nigerian Immigration Service counterpart have adopted new strategies in their efforts towards strengthening collaborations and winning the war against Irregular Migration in Abia.
The State Commandant Chukwuemeka Odimba stated this when he received the State Comptroller of Nigerian Immigration Service – A R Mammam who paid him a visit at the Command headquarters in Umuahia.
The State Comptroller appreciated the strong synergy existing between NSCDC and Immigration and solicited for new areas of collaborations to enable them fulfill their mandates. She mentioned the challenge of irregular migration and listed it as one of the areas where both agencies must review operations and adopt tighter measures to curb the menace.
She thanked the State Commandant for the warmth reception accorded her and Officers on her entourage.
In his response, Commandant Chukwuemeka assured his guest of the readiness of the Corps to deepen strategic engagements and collaboration with the Nigerian Immigration for a safer Abia.

The Abia NSCDC Boss agreed with the State Comptroller that it was high time new strategies were adopted to tackle the ugly incidents of irregular migration especially as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections. He directed the Head of Irregular Migration Unit of NSCDC to liaise with his counterpart in Immigration to find lasting solutions to the challenge.
He equally solicited the assistanfacilitating the applications for Official Passports by Management Officers of Abia NSCDCce of the State Comptroller towards to enable them process their overseas trainings travel arrangements.
