The Committee Chairman from APC headquarters Abuja that conducted the Abia state ward congress of the party, Honourable Israel Sunny Goli has described the just concluded ward Congress as a hitch free exercise.
Goli made this known during a press conference with journalists in umuahia.
According to him, the seven man committee commended the efforts and attitude of party members during the exercise, adding that everything was smooth and violence free. He explained that a sub committee was set at the ward level that will compute the result and send to the appropriate authority.
Honourable Goli further debunked the rumor that the Congress was a parallel exercise , adding that the exercise is an all inclusive one, were every member of the party was dully informed.
Meanwhile, Abia state chairman of all progressive congress, APC, Donatus Nwankpa has declared wanted the committee from national headquarters of the party led by one Sony Goli sent to conduct ward congress this day July 31th, 2021.
Nwankpa disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Umuahia said Goli led committee absconded with those he called disgruntled elements of the party to scuttle the activities of APC.
He maintained that court litigations that is threatening the validity of the national working committee of APC did not affect his executive, therefore those who came for the congress have come to cultivate crisis by not identifying with his team who have records of those who are aspiring for ward executives.
According Nwankpa, APC in Abia has no faction and pointed out that it was an error for the national committee not to send them names of the committee members, while efforts made to reach them through calls and text messages proved abortive.
